Non-Proprietary Fire Alarm

Without question, our Advanced Fire Systems and Mircom products are the preferred products for most fire alarm installations. However, there are occasions when a non-proprietary installation is appropriate - and AMFES offers several alternatives.

Mircom‘s conventional (hardwire) panels are still the best choice for non-proprietary conventional systems.

Potter Signal has an excellent reputation for quality, and offers a line of addressable and conventional (hardwire) systems that are almost identical to Advanced Fire Systems and Mircom.

Next in our list of non-proprietary fire alarm systems is Silent Knight. The 5820XL, 5808, and 5700 are capable addressable systems that provide reliable service - albeit at a higher price than comparable offerings from Mircom. Silent Knight also offers a wide range of conventional (hardwire) systems - the SK-2224, SK-4224, SK-6324, 5204, 5207, and SK-5208.

Next in our list of non-proprietary offerings is Fire-Lite. Fire-Lite also manufactures the Notifier line of proprietary fire alarm systems. Fire-Lite’s addressable and conventional panels are well-known, however AMFES prefers to use Mircom or Silent Knight over Fire-Lite.
